When we got on the bus, the bus driver asked us if we would like to buy the whole day bus pass, which was slightly more expensive then the return ticket but we could use it on the bus to buttermere, too. As I wasn't sure how the weather was going to be, I chose to buy the return ticket. However, after half way of our bus journey, I could still see the sun and it seemed to become brighter and brighter, walking around Buttermere seemed to be a good idea. So I kindly asked the bus driver if it was possible to change the return ticket to the whole day pass. He would not like to deal with this troublesome enquiry but he did kindly changed the tickets for us, thanks very much.
It turned out to be a brilliant decision. It was very sunny and the blue sky had been accompanying us throughout the whole hiking journey. It was even a bit too hot for us.
Later in the evening, we took the 18:05 direct train to London Euston, from there we took the tube to London Victoria and then the Gatwick Express to Gatwick airport, and from the airport we had to take a bus to get to the hotel - it said it was rather closed to the airport on booking.com, but it was too late at night and I could not find the way to get to the hotel... it was well past 23:30 by the time we were there...
