Everything went well until we were on the bus to Alesund. Since daylight was much shorter than before, sunset was at about 18:30pm, I decided to take the eariler bus to Alesund, so that when we arrived at Alesund we did not need to walk in the darkness with nobody around - could not ask for direction, you know. However, the bus was broken down half way to Alesund! It was snowing and perhaps the snow got too thick for the bus, I don't know, it was broken. We were stuck in the middle of nowhere, on the bus. I thought they would send another bus to pick us up to Alesund, I was wrong. There was indeed another bus, but it wasn't the type of bus I expected - it was for short distance travel and therefore there was no compartments for luggage. Moreover, the bus was kind of half full already, and it was full on the broken bus, so you can imagine - we were kind of squeezed on the bus, of course there was no seats for us. It was quite a long journey and we had to put on our large, heavy backpack and holding the suitcases and bags still, with no place to hold on... it was quite a nightmare...
Again, it took us quite a while to get to the place we were going to stay for three nights - a campus site. That was the first time we stayed at a hut. We first had to take a local bus and then walked for quite a long distance. The campsite owner was very friendly and helpful. The hut was OK, but the kitchen was not that good, and so a the toliet and shower because there were many insects. The view from our hut was very beautiful though, the night view overlooking the fjord was ravishing.
